SOMASSAGE®

SOMASSAGE® is different than Swedish, neuromuscular or other types of deep tissue massage.

The differences are:

The intent is different than massage. The client participates in the session. They are requested to bring themselves into a focused presence to feel into their body.

SOMASSAGE® is the only type of Neuromuscular work that is designed specifically to address the suspensory component inherent in an easeful upright posture.

SOMASSAGE® is a full body, Myofascial release massage that was developed from the principles of SOMA Neuromuscular Integration. Systematic, specific structural rebalancing of the body’s fascial web is the goal of SOMA. SOMASSAGE® is used in combination with treatment work for injuries while reinforcing a global awareness of the body’s connectedness.

The body is worked in a very different direction than other types of neuromuscular massage. This directionality supports the sense of greater suspension and vertically. It open and releases layers of fascia and organises the musculature to work well with gravity. The slow, deep and intentional strokes reset the nervous system and leave you feeling grounded, light and with a greater ease of movement, balance and grace.

SOMASSAGE® begins with a holographic body reading to assess patterns of imbalance that can be unwound with the work. Because SOMASSAGE® is a client centred massage the same work is not done for everyone. The goal of SOMASSAGE® is a type of relaxation that mobilises energy.

After a SOMASSAGE® session, clients feel very relaxed, centred, clear, and highly energised.
